Harmony Eco-Cabin

Harmony Eco-Cabin is our most accessible cabin and the perfect base for outdoor recreation and eco-adventure. Perfect for those that want to check out the surroundings in Western Maine’s lakes and mountains region or nearby Mt Washington Valley in New Hampshire.

Robin’s Nest Eco-Cabin

Inspired by Thoreau’s one-room cabin, our most popular eco-cabin retreat is the perfect place to take quiet refuge from busy day-to-day life. Tucked into the hillside of Pleasant Mountain, let the tree canopy surround you as you nestle into your own cozy cabin in the Maine woods.

Sleeps 3-4 Guests | Two-Night Minimum

Sunset Yurt

Sunset Yurt is tucked up on a knoll in the forest and offers westerly views through the treetops - a unique retreat for contemplation, reflection, and art. Unplug in your own private, off-the-grid retreat on the slopes of Pleasant Mountain.

Sleeps 1-3 Guests | Two-Night Minimum

Mountain Brook Yurt

The Mountain Brook Yurt is accessible year-round by a rugged, sloped footpath following a 10-minute, 1,000 foot climb. Make this your base for outdoor recreation and adventure, with many areas and activities to explore right outside your door.

Sleeps 2-6 Guests | Two-Night Minimum

Backcountry Camping

Leave your vehicle behind, hike into a beautiful primitive camping site, and surround yourself with nature’s beauty. Whether near our spring-fed mountain brook, atop a granite outcrop with long views, or tucked within the deciduous and coniferous forest, we have primitive campsites perfect for realigning with your natural rhythms.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, we are a 4 season eco-retreat center. Please note that our driveway is not open in the winter so you will have to access our Mountain by foot, crampons, or snowshoe. Make sure you bring layers!

  • Once you book, you will be sent a packing list for the individual accommodation you chose. The essentials that we recommend are a sleeping bag/linens, a towel, a flashlight/headlamp, layers depending on the weather, and a reusable water bottle. Please refer to the packing list that you were sent when you booked.

  • There is no running water in the cabins or yurts, however, there is an ample supply available in glass containers in your cabin. You have access to refill the water jugs on your own as needed.

The water provided is pure mountain well water from a drilled well on the property sourced through the granite subsurface 80’ down. Please note, we are a Plastic Water Bottle Free Campus. We ask that you do not bring cases of bottled drinking water to our retreat center.

If you are joining us for a sauna, there will be both drinking water and rinsing water for your use waiting for you in the sauna changing room.

  • We have a hybrid hot water system for year-round hot showers in our specially designed Pioneer shower room, just a short walk from your cabin or yurt.

You can enjoy our outdoor hot showers open April through October. We also offer a lovely outdoor shower at air temperature (outdoor showers are closed during the winter). Our spring fed mountain brook offers many massaging whirlpools, dipping pools, and granite sleuths to rinse in.

  • While our ethos is to disconnect from the pressures of our day to day lives, we understand that reality often requires cell phone service and wifi. We do have cell-phone service on the Mountain and wifi can be found in our Harmony cabin and our Lodge. We ask that if you are using a cell-phone, you are respectful of the people hoping to disconnect from the grid.

  • Our cabins are heated by wood stove. We will set the stove up for your before you arrive but it is your responsibility to keep the fire going while you are there. Firewood will be available near your cabin/yurt for your use along with newspaper, matches, and kindling.

  • Each cabin offers a 2 burner propane stove, pots, pans, utensils, plates, cups, bowls, coffee maker/tea pot and other items to meet your basic kitchen cooking needs.

  • No. We do, however, on some scheduled retreats, offer meals as listed.

  • We allow dogs in our Harmony Eco Cabin only. Please inquire before bringing your dog. To have your fury friend join you, we request that you:

    1. Bring along your dog's paperwork (license/immunizations).

    2. Keep dogs off furniture and beds.

    3. Pick up after them outside and don’t put bagged droppings in the composting toilet

    4. Keep them leashed and near you since there may be other guests on the land. We allow long leads as long as they are on good recall.

  • We are working on making our property more accessible in all areas. Our most accessible cabin is our Harmony cabin which is right off the parking lot. For more accessibility questions, concerns, or suggestions, please contact emily@ntnretreats.com.
