Composting Privies
We compost everything here, including the food you eat after it leaves your system :) . Our uniquely designed, clean, spacious and bright composting toilets will break down the contents in a year or two and will then be used to fertilize our local flowers and trees. Our facilities are located conveniently on the property as well as inside Robin's Nest and the Pioneer Cabin.

Shower Facilities

We have 3 varying options for bathing at Nurture Through Nature Retreat Center.
During the warmer months, we offer a private, open-air shower, located at the back of the Mt Pleasant Meeting House. It is unheated and the water temperature fluctuates with the air temperature.

If you opt for a private sauna steam bath during your stay, you are given the opportunity for a lovely traditional sauna steam bath . Once your sweat is complete, you pour warm water over your entire body, scrub down and rinse. Dr. Bronner's organic castile-soap is sold in our store. The design of the sauna is intended for this traditional bathing and cleansing.

Lastly, the Pioneer Cabin has solar and wood-fired hot water for showers. So, for those who want all the indoor green Luxuries, make sure to reserve the Pioneer Cabin!
